Reducing healthcare and workers’ compensation costs is important for the success of any business. At Sports Physical Therapy of New York, we make this achievable by offering aggressive treatment programs geared toward injured workers who are evaluated based on the injury, work requirements and rehabilitation goals. A functionally-based treatment plan is developed and initiated, and the goal is to return healthy, productive employees to work as soon as possible through high quality, cost-effective care. Functional capacity evaluations, work conditioning, pre/post-offer testing and various worksite services provide the disability management services needed to enjoy the benefits of an injury free workplace.
Our Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) provides an objective and comprehensive evaluation of an individual's ability to perform essential work functions, and is performed using a standardized protocol based on peer-reviewed, published data. It is an important tool used to assist employers, physicians, insurance companies, attorneys, case managers and vocational counselors to determine safe, functional levels for an individual to either return to work or to establish functional ability. The evaluation can assist referral sources by offering information for adjudication of claims in short/long-term disability, providing return-to-work capabilities and determining ability levels for liability cases using appropriate medical standards.
BenefitsSports Physical Therapy of New York offers this highly structured, goal-oriented, individualized intervention program designed to safely return the individual to their job. The program is directed by the thorough evaluation of a Physical Therapist in cooperation with the physician/employer/case manager. We incorporate actual or closely simulated work activities designed to restore physical, behavioral and vocational functions. Work Conditioning also addresses the issues of productivity, safety, physical tolerances and work behaviors. Program length varies from 2-4 hours per day, 3-5 days per week and duration of the program is largely determined by the health of the individual and the job they are returning to.
